Fresh from the city, Velma decided to go downtown and spruce up… something. Relieved to be back on her own turf, she nonetheless craved a sparkle or splash of some kind. She engaged a ride to the village and had a lovely warm afternoon strolling through the little shoppes on main street.
She decided on a beautiful cat brooch with just the right balance of shiny sparkle and mystery.
She stopped for tea in the storefront bakery and had tea and a biscuit. She opened her brooch and laid him on the wee marble table that she had to herself; she studied him and smiled. He had a curious personality. She took a bite and decided to name him Biscuit. She smiled again.
